The Interledger Foundation (ILF) joined the 2025 Payments Canada Summit in Toronto, hosting a panel on “Interoperable Cross-Border Transfers.” Speakers from Chimoney, The People’s Clearinghouse, and ILF highlighted how open protocols and supportive regulation can make migrant remittances faster, cheaper, and more inclusive.

In August, the ILF team joined the People’s Clearinghouse in Oaxaca, Mexico, to work on a deployment of a remittance corridor between the US and 140 Mexican community banks. The group worked on Rafiki, Mojaloop, and banking system integrations, as well as outlining compliance requirements, settlement flows, and future plans.
